We take a holistic approach to theater in which content, process, and production remain tethered to complex environmental questions.

We work collaboratively, rigorously, and sustainably upon a foundation of sound science to create intimate, fictional events that ignite crucial environmental conversations.

We believe that the way we make art should be a model for a thriving society; therefore our design and production processes are vigilantly green

We engage diverse audiences and communities, tenaciously pursue deep ecological consciousness, revolutionary theater, and tangible hope in the face of great adversity.

We run four central initiatives:

  1. Planet Plays

A series of nine interconnected, ecology-inspired plays that together form a new mythology for our changing world.

  2. Climate Collaborations                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Performances made for all audiences created in collaboration with scientists.

  3. Big Green Theater                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    An annual, interdisciplinary educational program that teaches students about various environmental subjects and guides them through the creation of original plays that are professionally produced using green theater methods.
  4. Lab                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                A creative workshop held in NYC exploring cross-disciplinary collaboration to confront pressing questions about humanity’s relationship to our planet through the lens of theater.

We run an open-door collective. Talented collaborators flow in and out of our ever growing community. Our Captain and First Mate work full-time, and our part-time Core Members act as an advisory committee and share responsibility for the long-term life of Clubhouse projects and initiatives.
