The Planet Plays: VENUS

URANUS

PLUTO

Citizens of a small town located on the volatile surface of planet Venus gather at the local firehouse each day to eat pancakes, and to assuage the ferocious volcanoes waiting to burst outside. Into this community of expatriate 20-something Earthlings enters a girl from another world. Igniting an affair with the local boy serving coffee, her presence pressurizes and destabilizes their idyllic town, and everything erupts.

A play about desire, responsibility and alternative energy.

VENUS was developed the summer of 2009 in collaboration with Upright Egg Theatre Company in Minneapolis, MN. Like the other Planet Plays, VENUS will continue to be developed throughout the coming years.
